I see alot of comparison between WoW and DDO on the official boards - in a number of threads people bash DDO because it doesnt have nearly as many quests as WoW etc. Apparently WoW has some 2500 quests and DDO only around 130-140 atm. What people seem to forget is that in WoW a quest might be "Go to this patch of generic terrain and kill 20 of this type of mob", or in the case of instances there might be 5-6 quests sharing a single dungeon - while in DDO each and everyone of those quests is a handcrafted dungeon of its own, usually with several optional objectives as well.

Id rather take quality quests over quantity quests thank you.

It seems to be the way nowadays that every game is compared to WoW, usually for no other reason that a lot of WoW players are looking for other games.

It is also a symptom of the forum trolls and game-bashers who seem to plague forums. They account for less than 1% of the community, but make such a noise that it seems it's the voice of the community as a whole.

DDO's problems are easily resolved with patches and content additions, it has all the modular advantages NWN had.

My problem is the resource management side of the instances but only because it's new and quiet alien to me! I'm sure I'll adapt, so far I like it and hope they can sort out the niggling problems with the servers and UI for a start.

I agree, but players compare WoW to games like EvE which are totally different types of games, the only thing in common is they are massively multiplayer.

Comparisons between WoW and DAoC or EQ2 i can understand because they are all essentially the same basic game type with a few different bells and whistles.
