FTP access

guys the FTP access for files and patches simply ain't working.

One of my reasons for subscribing to game.net was the fast patch download.


Rarely can i get access first time and even though i have a 1MB max download speed it rarely get's above 20KB/S using your FTP.

If it is not economically possible to offer this service as part of the main subscription then maybe it should be offered at a small extra price to reduce numbers.

At the moment saying you offer a fast subscription based download is false advertising as it doesn't exist.

Try this, its might give you better/quicker results

There may be other reasons as well, do you get higher connection speeds with other sites? (try it with files of comparable size).

Are you sure you're logging onto the subs only FTP? The free FTP is capped to 20k/s or something.

I know this doesnt help, but I just gave the UK subs FTP a whirl from work and got in first time and was downloading at 115KB/S

He's Belgian, I doubt the UK ftp is much use to him

yeah from belgium so i can't use it...

maybe i should just stick to other sites....

never actually thought about trying UK subs from here i'll give it a whirl...

well spotted.. I didnt check that.

But thinking about it, as Im at work, my net traffic goes via Boston USA. That shouldnt have been much use to me either.

Just tried the (non UK) Subs FTP and it wouldnt let me download for ages either. Then when it did, the same file is coming down at 60KB/S

I'm on the UK FTP and getting 100k/s, so it's not a problem with the FTP.

I've tried from work and from home both have the same problem.

In fact it won't even give me the download pop-up.

even when i right click and save target as...

ok i'll end this pointless discussion now...

none the wiser but happier that someone listened....
