gah OF emain is dead - lets keep it that way please?

they've encouraged more open-"field" fighting (not really fields ;) mountains and hills and swamps and stuff) in the later patches by removing porting to your own coastal keeps and to enemy internal keeps.

e.g. you can't port erasleigh as alb in 1.73 or whatever, but have to run there - more open field fighting.

i love it, although only one way through to other realms (one milegate to the neutral zone) might be a bit .. dodgy .. kinda rvr bottleneck, easily camped (remember the server crashing RR zergs in odins?:p) but yeh, bring back some form of milegates imo, whats hte point in all that water if you cant navigate it and its so vast.. you sit on a boat with nothing to look at for 2 minutes while you move around. gifv more river access to boats imo, make boats cheaper, and not player hookpoints, but seige hookpoints and aiblity to walk around on boats :)

I agree 100% with his analysis of pros/con of OF and NF, but Im not sure I like his layout idea. I have tried to make make my own layout (in my head) and there are a LOT of things that need to be considered. It's deffinately not as easy as one would think.

One thing I don't get about the New Frontiers though, is the fact that technically it is one zone, but in practice the three frontiers are still separated. Porting has just been replaced by sailing. It would make sense to connect the frontiers with a neutral (landmass) area as he suggested, although I don't agree that there should be a keep or milegates there.

That sounds like a good change. Hopefully, it will bring battles further into the frontiers instead of in the water at drop-off points (am I the only one who hates underwater fights? :))

worthless idea... so adding a place where people can congregrate is gonna stop zerging? err no it isnt.. just means instead of gathering in keeps the alb masses will gather in the new meeting place... totally pointless. :wanker:

I agree with some of it, the idea of a land-mass in the pallens ocean zone or whatever its called would be cool,

The idea of the keep i dont like, just encourages more of the same tower fights that i hate.

The idea of the entrance into the froniters areas being thru 'milegate' like structures is in my opinion a bad idea. but this is only because i detested the old MG-camping that went on.

The idea of making the boats like that wouldnt work, it would present far too many programming problems, creating somthing like that would require somthing of a game in itself, i would think.

IMO the patch that removes teleportation to some of the keeps will solve alot of the current problems, and re-introduce a few more of the roaming fights
