One of the GM's said first week 2005 for 1.71. can't find the post anymore. Some friday news said early jan 2005

Do people really read/care about those background stories etc?

Release of version 1.71
The internal tests of version 1.71 are still running and the volunteers have begun to test the English and German clients for the SI and SuperClassic versions. We will continue our tests during the Christmas holidays and we plan to release the version the first week of January. The tests concerning the introduction of new bonuses, experience conditions for the artifacts and the new maps in game are going well.

i presume you meant that posting? since there has been no official word of change expect to be patched in the next 5 days. i hope.

I hope so too. The new arti exp places are mostly good. Atleast for my concern. However I would still like Ceremonial Bracer, Tartaros Gift, Crown of Zahur, Scepter of Merit to be RVR etc.

they've been putting one in almost every friday news for a while now tis good. Also see the universe section on the chronicles.

Mythic have only just started posting their backgrounds: during catacombs beta we /begged them to post the background stories somewhere public hence the Camelot Lore section on the herald now

Personally I just don't think GOA tell us DAoC junkies enough of what happens behind the scene. Whats going on at their offices, how the patch conversions are going, plans for the servers and the games.
The US people may get this where the game is in dev but i don't really know. I just know that we don't. I've been playing a little EVE Online lately and the developers even run a blog with all this stuff in. I just think they could put more effort into the news.
