Heard this joke today and made a quick, sloppy translation.
A woman wakes up at night, missing her husband beside her.
She goes downstairs into the kitchen and there he is, sitting at the table, drinking a cup of coffee.
"What´s up honey?", she says.
He doesn´t move, his eyes are staring at the cup in front of him.
"Do you remember", he says, "when we were young? You were 17, I was 19. We went to the discotheque every weekend!"
"Yes dear, I remember", she says.
"And do you remember my old car? Where I kissed you for the first time?"
She smiles, then sits down beside him, wrapping an arm around him.
"Yes, I remember", she says.
"And then the uncomfortable backseat of the car.. you know.. when we did it for the first time?"
"Yes, yes!", she says, wiping a tear of nostalgia from her eye.
"And when your father suddenly knocked at the window, pointed a gun at me and said: You are going to marry my daughter, or I`m going to send you to jail for twenty years!"
She giggles.
He takes a zip from the coffeemug. A deep sigh escapes from his mouth.
"Tomorrow, I would have been free."
