be happy with det/ip and aom back i dont mind losing dodger cos if im rvr it will be in groups where dodger dont mean much cos not often u be face2face with enemy u either be chasing n whacking or running away n whacking (which is when reflex attack be usefull)

dont think i know of 1 single friar who wont atleast get det 1, its too good to miss tbh, yeah getting AoM back is nice and IP but still.. would be nice to get the melee RA back that reduced melee dmg against us.. still good news shows atleast mythic does listen sometimes, even if they tried to pass it off as an "inadvertant" error...lol yeah whatever nubbers!

You know det 1 = 1% reduction in CC? Dunno how I'll possibly live without that....although RAs have the same names, most of em are really quite different to how we know them now - new det reduces CC duration by a % equal to the number of points spent in it (at 5 levels up to 34% max), wheras the current det is 15% per level up to a max of 75%. Of course stuff is all subject to change, as we've just seen, but if Foundations came tomorrow, with the current RAs, I'd much rather spend my points in the new IP, or the new Reflex attack, or in VR.

At the moment if a non-tank (tanks get their 25% base reduction at RR5 or something iirc) class wants to have cc reduction, they need to go pretty much all-out to make it worthwhile (20 or 34 skill pts) with det - how it should be but not something I'm especially interested in doing personally.

And yes, dodger would be nice

So instead of being mezzed for 60 seconds, you'll be mezzed for 59.4 seconds.

Det1 is crap, they've basically revamped them all so that you really have to specialise in a particular line in order to get the most gain out of it instead of just getting 10 passive lvl 1 abilities like could be done before.

i not exactly sure what ra's i goin but ill certinly get max purge.. and maybe cple lvls of det and then ill see whats left over for me to play with, altho it gonna be a while before we get frontiers so things might change etc etc before then.. and ofc i will (i hope) of gotten a few more realm lvls or a rr or 2 more so i gonna make my final choices nearer the time.

If i'm going to get det, it would have to be level 4 minimum, which is 20 points and not really a sum i'm prepared to spend on it - its a big chunk of skill points in anyone's book.

exactly coren . but........ with all the above melee classes having that 25% mezz reduction we still wont get grps if we dont spec det. so det IMO is a must iff we want to be able to get into those good rvr grps ... id rather spend that many point to get higher det than spend another 6-12+ months sat at atk yelling for a grp

Friars are kind of hybrids, and my feeling is that in frontier you guys need to rethink. Fast purge will take care of mezz, but all groups will have root as backup. I think friars need to figure out how to perform while not being mezzed but rooted, and that would probaly mean to spec higher healing than
now instead of whack with stick most are now. I think hybrids need to try use the fact they can perform while rooted to become viable.

Ah so there is a case for det 1 - all I need to do is put one point in it. Then I can tell groups in good faith that I have det and they'll grp me again!!!11111 oh wait did I say again? I still don't think that 1% per point is not great value, and I *hope* I'm not gonna have to spend up to a third of the rp I could ever earn just so I can get a group...but we'll see I guess.

And yeah think I am gonna be respeccing to more rejuv soon (paltry 15 atm) as the new RAs seem to fit in with that kind of character a lot more.

i think ill prolly go de4 and purge 4 or 5 and then maybe a few lower lvl ones of other skills till im higher rr . i wanan compete for rvr grps not jsut automatically be sitting there as a gimp with no cc reduction

Its amazing friars whine for a week about losing det, IP and AoM and get it back, arms whine for 2 years about the double speccing problem and still get nothing to solve it... proof right there that mythic hates armsmen.

You have to admit that friars wasnt a class that many liked in rvr grps. At least now they will get their chance to prove themselves. Nerf arms..useless class
