Friar RAs?

Hello! I played tanks before in the US, and now I have a staff specced friar. Can anyone suggest what RAs I should be going for? I was thinking to concentrate on MoP being mostly offensive but after that perhaps something like MCL to help with my power? TIA for your advice.

well for a start you want aug dex + quick
then you can build from there
most friars go
master of parry 2
dodger 2
as a base then build off those

i have avoidance of magic 2 and the 6% base resists help a lot

and ofc master of pain with friars high dex and mop 3+ every 3rd or 4th hit is a crit

now god willing ill get a realm respec stone and take my master of pain further

never tried reflex attack since it got nerfed tis rather shite

ofc theres ip but thats a lot of saving better spent on passive abilities

and purge would be a good investment around rr4 when you can afford the 10 points

Hmmm thanks Stafford. I hadn't really considered Mastery of Parry at all tbh, and I'm BG level atm so will look to get aug dex and qui first off, aug dex for damage and aug qui for dodger (right?)... how much is mastery of parry? Do you have this, and consider it worth the points?

Tis what I think is the most useful RA's for friar.

Not pain and dodger 3?:D will give mids and hibs more whining to nerf you guys :p

well dodger 2 is enough to hit the 50% evade cap

longwind 1 is quite usefull if you wanna sprint for 2 mins derric but not my style :p

master of parry is 1 points then lvl 2 is 3 points
my parry is 19+13 and it helps out a lot for catching those attacks that slip through evade defense

and pain is the best RA for a friar
if i had some webspace id post a pic to show you why >: )

Thought evade 50% cap wasn't on friars it just said assasins?

- We are capping the maximum amount that any player (of any class) can evade at 50%. Assassins are the only classes that can currently go above this cap, by linking together their Evade 7 ability, plus the Realm Ability Dodger, plus stat bonuses. Assassins will be granted a Realm Ability respec for those who no longer want Dodger ability (as it is usually Dodger that pushes them above 50%). I'm RR3L2 and so far have:

Aug Dex 2, Aug Qui 2, Dodger 2, MOParry 1, MOPain 1, Avoidance of Magic 1, Toughness 1, FA, MCL

I will be getting Parry, Pain and AOM up to 2 but I have started on the IP route as i just got FA. These passives made a huge difference to me though. I have 25 in rejuve but can still solo 99% of red con diamond mobs in DF and have on a couple of occasions beaten a purple con nightmare and spider (must have been the lowest a purp can be ;)) when agro'd.

i started on the ip route decided it wasnt worth it before rr5+
not enough RPs now im stuck with nerfed FA2 <spit>

and even with overcap meatballs you wont be able to go over 50% evade in pvp

my target at rr5 will be

Aug dex 2
Aug quick 2
MoPain 3
MoParry 3
Dodger 2
AoM 3
MCL

and 7 points left towards purge

Theres something missing although I can't quite remember.

In my opinion, it is not worth taking mastery of parrying above 1, nor is it worth taking aug con above 1, they return very little for the number of points spent. Mastery of Pain 3 may be something i would look for, or aom 3, or even longwind 2, perma sprint is actually quite useful.

I would recommend, aug qui 2, dodger 2 first, then go for ignore pain, purge is not as important so go for that later on, after you have built up your passives.

Ignore Pain is actually fantastic, very useful if u get jumped by 3 nightshades instead of 1. I had the friar specific RA, reflex attack, and its absoloutley dreadful, so dont get that, had to waste a respec to get rid of it :(

Anyway, just my thoughts, probably not worth anything :)
