French/German servers

When i'm on one of those kinds of servers, my "r" for quick-reply don't work, writes I have not received a message yet and other things don't work as well, to many small things to mention here, but anyone know how to make it work?

Maybe the french or german words for reply dont begin with R <shrug> My guess to make it work would be find their words for reply and try first letter of that.

You need to re-configure somehow, it get the interface message "You cannot reply until you have Receive a message" thingy when I press 'r' even tho I'm writing to someone (who have writen back to me )

r button is hardcoded to the clients language,

if the client is english the 'r' button check if there is a <someone. sends you: "

if the client is german/french its searchs for their text


you must download hteir client to climb walls and use 'r'

So, without the german and/or french client, I only have 2 normal + 1 pvp server to play on?

I still hate GOA, give CSR, 3 English NORMAL servers (one for mid, one for alb and one for hib) and I might not hate them.

[edit] by CSR, I mean INGAME support, not freaking RightNow (in a elven way of the RIghtNow (Elven moments can last centuries according to some of my hardcore Roleplay m8s ))

You can play on all the european servers whatever the language.
To get the german/french client, delete the /language floder and change english in french or german in your update.dat

Anyway, it is written in RightNow ...

If you cannot use the reply key or if some trade skills are displayed in a wrong language, you have a client/server language problem.

This issue happens when you use a client version different from the servers you're playing on (english client on a french or german server for example).

The language of the PvP server is english. So, what you can do is editing your update.dat file and changing the "german" or "french" word to "english" in the file.

Then delete the language folder in the game directory and launch the game. All the problems mentioned above will be corrected.

reply = repondre in french
(to respond comes from repondre)

This is one of the times I would love to be able to create new chars to at least play on those french servers... wonder if anyone else have problems with it. Haven't been able to create any new chars for month or so. Normal playing on old chars works fine

Look for the update.dat in your shrouded isles folder.

Open it with editor/wordpad etc. It should look something like this:

Mythic Patch
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat
193.252.123.21:1280/updates/english/isles/mpatch.dat

You'll need to change the .../english/... to /german/ or /french/ in both entries.
If it still wont work, reinstall and change the update.dat before you patch to 1.63 ^^
