A few weeks ago i got a new HD/Freeview ready TV and now that i've moved back to uni i've set it all up etc, but a couple of things seem to be happening;

Once i've scanned for all the channels, they'll only hang about for a while before losing one, two or all of them, and then i've only got BBC2 to Channel 5 and have to re-scan to get everything back. Some channels also seem to spaz out from time to time, like when you've got a crappy internet stream.

Some of the channels aren't being picked up - the only ones i've noticed so far are BBC1 & 3, i can get BBC3 on analogue but the quality's shit, BBC1 seems to be elusive in it's entirity.

Could the aerial cable be responsible in any way? It's just a crappy one from tesco so i don't know if that makes a difference.

Cheers meights :drink:

Not the aerial cable, but the aerial itself.

Are you in halls with a communal aerial, or do you have access to it? Or is it an internal one.

The EPG itself could also be to blame a little, a lot of integrated freeview sets have awful EPG's.

Freeview really needs good reception.

It's a house but i think we've got at least 3 sets of tennants within it as it's a detached house split into 3 or so properties. Not sure where the aerial is or if i have access to it for that reason.

The reception when i pick up the channels seems fine though, good quality, but it just seems to go very quickly if i start switching channels.

Two things you can check then, borrow a freeview set top box and plug it into your aerial socket. If it works without the problems you have mentioned, then it is a problem with the inbuilt freeview on your TV - possibly a fault.

Get a internal aerial and use that instead, see if your reception and channel choice improves.
