Free programme to edit AVIs

Can anyone recommend a good programme to edit AVIs? Doesn't need to be fancy - just a case of cutting clips together and editing out guff.

Tried to use the search facility, but the word AVI was too short^^.

If you want to Cut pieces up, convert to other formats, etc, use VirtualDub, freely aviable on OldVersion.com

To paste them together, adding effects, titles and such, Windows Movie Maker is pretty neat for a free program. Lots of the editing programs on SourceForge leaves something to be wanted in my experience, but by combining VirtualDub and WMM you get a pretty good editing platform free

I aint explored this programme only used it for converting .avi back and forth so it might have some nifty tools. Worth a shot and keeping hold of if you do shit with films !
