Free level changes?

Pah, logged on my lvl 47.9 bard today, due to get a free level to ding to 48.x, and it says im too high to get a free level now

have they ninja'd some changes to the system or am I just missing something?

Free lvl`s only apply upto lvl 47...you have to work it out so when you ding 47 your still due the free lvl as lvl 47 is the last lvl to recieve it on
So going from 46 to 47 gets you lvl 48 with the free lvl aslong as the lvl`s due

You're missing something, its always stopped at 47.

Ding 46, xp to 46.99, wait for free lvl, use free lvl to get to 47.98(ish) and xp to 48...I think thats how its done...altho I do remember summit bout being 49 after doing it...hmm...mebbe its like said above...ding 46..wait for free lvl..go 47.99 and use free lvl. Ah well, I'll find out again soon enough

On both my druid and vampiir, I have manualy Ding'd 47 then free'd to 48 - not sure why this didnt happen above.

Aye...I was sure I got to 49 in my own equation..just didnt fit with the no free at 47 as mentioned above but yea. 48.8-9'ish is where you should end

In 1.77 when i was xp-ing in Lamorak, i went 47.95 then took the freeone to get to around 48.8 so they haven't changed it, however you should manually ding 47 for that to happen.

yep i levelled to 47.95 manually so that I could free level into 48, but perhaps it was something i did dinging 47? cant really remember that far back tbh.

When i checked it last night it said I was eligable for a free level in 20 hours, but perhaps I hadnt actually dinged in 4 days, lol. oh well nm

I got a free lvl on my NS at lvl 47.2, One of my friends got a message that he was to high blabla to get a free level at 47 dot something...wich is wierd xD

anyways they prolly rolled back my level and loads of PL on prydwen when its online again

Correct me if im wrong but dont you get the exact same amount of xp if you use the freelevel at 46,00 as you get at 46,99 ?
you dont gain anything , you still have to do as much farming

The way I have always done it is ding 47 normally so last free level is active(47-48) then exp till 47.99. Collect free level exp (47>48) and ding to 48.x (normally around 48.7ish?) then exp like normal to 50. Done that with all chars since free level introduction, also done it when PLing friends chars.

ive exped my cabby to 47.9, than got my freelevel and ding 48.x .. so it was working for me 2 weeks ago.

No change - just 47 is a special level - you must make sure you manually Ding to get 47 - if you arrive at 47 via a free level - then you cannot use the free level you earn next cos to earn it you have to manually earn a level - as this would take you to 48 you then lose it

So best way to go is to get your 2nd to last free lvl to get you to 46 then manual level to 47.9 and claim your free level to get 48.8 or so then it's an easy ride to 49 - the toon I am on at the mo is lvl 44 - next free level when I manually ding 45 - so as soon as I ding 45 get free level - straight to 46 then you manually ding to 47 and get a close to 48 as you dare and wait for next free level to arrive and then claim it while your still 47.9x - takes some planning as you must arrive at 47 manually

That should be correct. Amount of exp you get is to match what's needed at lvl x.0 to go to lvl x+1.0
As soon as I get my freebies I vist the trainer to (hopefully) get me some new spells/styles to help me level easier, instead of waiting to get to lvl x.99.

for whatevr reason they changed it so if you manually earn 47 you get 48 for free.

i can only imagine its to do with the free lvl system not screwing you out of a free lvl.

if you lvl from 1 to 2 and get the free lvl to 3, then xp from 3 to 4 and get free lvl to 5....do this and see what happens, also see what happens when you start from /20.

maybe ppl earnt the lvl 47 and goa thought they should get the last free lvl at 48....can do nice quests are lvl 48 to get to lvl50

I keep telling people this, but there all blind to the fact!!!

Btw did ya know ya can /free to 20, leave the 20 unused then few days latter 21 is free aswell found it out by accident was making bg alt but changed my mind, 1 weak latter logged it on to go equip it and got free pop up

That should be correct. Amount of exp you get is to match what's needed at lvl x.0 to go to lvl x+1.0

There is another benefit to taking the free XP as soon as possible. When you level your XP cap increases. This means that for every mob you kill and hit the XP cap before you accept the free level you lose the extra XP.

Whenever I get a free level I take it as soon as possible, I wouldn't stop what I was doign to go and get it though, it doesn't make that much difference.

you got the xp required to go from 39->40 for free

that's not enough to ding you from 39.97 to 41

After lvl 40 it gets like 4x as hard to lvl as normal so it's right that you lvl to 40.4 when you get your free level at 39.9

Lvl 40-50 takes as long as Lvl 1-40.

The other thing I'm wondering about is why people take the free lvl at lvl 47.99 and not at lvl 47.01. The amount of xp'ing you have to do remains the same.

It works up to and including level 47, and you can get level 48 this way, it worked for my vampiir.

it used to STOP at 47, but a few patches ago it was changed to the ding 47 naturaly = get 48 free, cant remember the reason why though

done this on about my lasy 8 chars
