Free domain names?

HI all

I apologise in advance but this has nothing to do with gaming…….

I am hoping to start a new webhosting business in December but one with a twist, all clients that sign up for a Standard or Gold account will receive a free UK domain name.

But before I can get it running I have to find out what kind of interest level there is so I can submit a business proposition to the bank.

I'm not a businessman, in fact this is the first business I have ever tried to set up so I would really appreciate your input. Have a look round my temporary site and then you can register any interest or comments you may have by using the link at the bottom of the pricing page.

i WOULD have had freenetname not come up first, u have to pay in the end for them anyway, but u get a crap service.


i feel you may have had hundreds of applicants had you released this earlyer.
(with good advertising)


btw what linux proggy u use? apache?

Yeah I know, but hopeofully I should get the rest that didn't sign up with freenetname because of the huge transfer fee.

Yeah I use apache, or will be doing if the bank likes the look of my face

The issue with freenetname is that you have to login to their ISP (0845) to send and recieve e-mail for the domain. By having mailboxes accessible from anywhere you would be one up on them.

I use freenetname for my domain and it works fine...

What fees u on about??? Only one i saw was if u wanna transfer your domain to a diff ISP for hosting, in whoch u pay 93 quid transfer fee... apart from that theres nowt else as far as i know... and if they do charge ya you can give up the domain name

Nah, when u close the account or dont use it for some period of time (9 months??????) they charge you for the domain.
