The #FreddysHouse IRC channel will require you to be registered and authorised with the Quakenet Q bot before you can join.

A: You Type: /MSG Q HELLO

*If Q Replies about Registering, follow the instructions below. If Q did not reply about registering go to part B.

You Type: /msg Q HELLO your@emailaddress your@emailaddress
Q Reply = -Q- Hello, "YourUserName". A new user account has been created for you, with nick "YourUserName".
-Q- OK, Your login information has been sent to "Your@EmailAddress". please check your email for further instructions.

Check your email and read it.

To change your password type: /MSG Q NEWPASS oldpassword newpassword newpassword
Q Reply: -Q- OK, password changed.

B: You Type: /MSG Q HELLO

**If Q Reply = -Q- Someone's already registered with that nick!
-Q- If it's YOUR nick type: /msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH nick password

If it's not your Nick (i.e name), change your name to something else, or like in my case "SAS" I had to change to SAS--. Only letters, numbers and "-" symbols are allowed in names. Next type: /MSG Q HELLO and if the name is not in use you'll be asked the following...

***If Q Reply = -Q- You forgot to type your email address.
-Q- /MSG Q HELLO your@emailaddress your@emailaddress
-Q- Basic instructions and your login information for your new account will be mailed to the email address you supply, so make sure it's valid.

How to auth with Q upon joining quakenet IRC
You Type: /msg Q@CServe.quakenet.org AUTH nick password
Q Reply = -Q- AUTH'd successfully.

Dont forget to put

"/mode $me +x" In perform.

Or if you are doing it manually you type "/mode <currentnick> +x"

/Edit: This changes your hostmask to "<Ident>@<Auth>.users.quakenet.org"

This prevents some nasty people from obtaining your IP and having their way with your computer.

What do I do? When I have #freddyshouse in my list to perform it dont let me, yet when I /j #freddyshouse it lets me

In my case once I auth it says I cannot join as I am not registered, BUT if I enter again it's ok (my connection is slow so maybe catching up with being registered or something).

If you do not have a Q account and it's saying you are auth It probably means someone has your username and already has a Q account?

Have you registered with Q? If so manual join the channel should do the trick?

It's just lag then.
Put the auth line higher up in the perform list, see if that helps.

I got a new one. If you track starman down in #alienpants or another IRCop (data) they will be able to help in this case. Otherwise you'll need a new Q account. Change your name to xane- and away you go :/

Use mIRC's channels folder and add #freddyshouse as an auto join channel for quakenet or make sure the join line comes after your auth lines in your performs. Most times you can't get in as the Q auth isn't complete when you join.

Xane - your old account probably expired if you've not used it in (i think its) 60 days.

Atleast in my clients /j #channel doesn't work (mIRC and BitchX) you either type /j channel (without #) or /join #channel

/j is a alias for /join # bla bla bla
