Just started using fraps abit, and want to ask what programs you guys find best to use for editing your movies?
Also the movies I am recording uses hell of HD space, so what you using for "shrinking" your movies down to a normal MB size, that wont eat your HD all up? :)

Thank you in advance.

windows movie maker sucks cos it only knows wmv

anyhow.. if you use GameCam the movies on the harddrive are much smaller because camecam doesn't save uncompressed avi's. It compresses them on the fly making the resulting movies much much smaller.
Pinnacle studio is a good movie editing program, albeit a bit expensive.
You also might like VirtualDub. It's GPL licenced, thus free to use
Advice, use the Ogg Vorbis or Lame MP3 audio encoder and the XviD Video encoder

(of these three you only need to add the encoder dll's to the Windows\system32\ folder for them to work)

how much hd space would a movie take up roughly if it was 30 mins long before being compressed and edited on fraps?

Outlander:

Without any compression method used, raw data, 1.5gb, at a decent resolution.

And yes, Pinnacle Studio is a neat editing application.

EDIT:
edited on fraps?
Fraps is the capturing application, it captures the videostream and saves to file.

Depends on resolution / fps

It's quite big though

Use Gamecam - saves files compressed so they arent huge size and is good quality also ;) puts fraps to shame
