I want to make DAoC-movies!

So I tried a few programmes for screen captioning, since my graphics card is limited to TV-out. The ones I tried was Hypercam, Camtasia and Fraps.

Hypercam was ok; but it was very heavy on the CPU load, so I reckon this program would fit small scale captioning and not high computer load games like DAoC. I could just about press it to record at 10-15 fps on my computer, and that's a 2,5GHz Pentium 4, and not some slow crap from eight years ago. And with the severe CPU load at those FPS's, the game is more or less unplayable. :)

The same goes for Camtasia, really. Although, Camtasia comes with a nice bundle of interesting programmes and extensions I never could be arsed to try out. Heh.

Now, Fraps ... This program rocks (except for the fact that the output looks totally screwed when I tried recording with the latest edition, 2.0).

The great thing about Fraps is that the main load isn't on your CPU but on your harddisk. So you can play the game and record (and the quality was pretty good) at the same time.

tsk :)
