France have certainly improved as the tournament has gone on, for a team that was a complete shambles before the tournament (much like German for that matter) they have turned things around. Some delightful football played by them today and Zidane is going out on a high.

Brazil were disappointing. They left Ronaldino out of position for too long, his best position is out on the left side. Robinho made an impact, shame he wasnt at a fitness level that would let him start the game as that would have been interesting viewing.

France are a strong physical side at times, lets just hope the diving of portugal does not allow them to get the advantage in the semis and hopefully Germany will beat italy. If France play much like they did today with Ribery and Zidane giving performances it should be a good final between them two teams. Germany certainly been playing well constantly, the crowd has certainlyt lifted them to new heights they not seen in quite some time

I'm really no football fan, but still today was great. Portugal kicked out England and France nuked Brasil back to South America. WOW

When I saw that France won, I was just having a party at some friends' and I totally went mad =))

France were great, Zidane really is one of the true all time greats, he ran the show from start to finish against a truely gifted Brazil side.

As I said in the Zidane v Plantini thread, Zizou is head and shoulders above Platini. The game is faster and harder now than it has ever been, yet Zidane still shines beyond all others even in his mid-30's.

Thoroughly deserved win for France. They are coming to their peak at just the right moment. Zidane rolled back the years with that performance - he looks like he is loving every minute of it. Viera also looks like he is coming into form. Hope they go on now and give the Portuguese a stuffing - the only thing that would make up for last night is seeing Ronaldo crying again.

Kudos to Zidane!
After watching him play in the group matches, I really thought he´s now beyond his time and just can´t stop like Michael Schumacher can´t stop driving Ferraris around. I stand corrected. He´s still able to control a game and give enough creative input to defeat the "allmighty" Brasilians.
Brazil didn´t deserve to win. They didn´t show ONE convincing game in this WC so far. In all their games, they looked cramped or bored.

Now I`m looking forward to GER-FRA in the finals.
