FPS Restriction

Just a little tip...

By default there is an FPS restriction placed on Call of Duty. This is 85 FPS, although you will probably see it go a little higher.

You can remove the limit by doing:

/set com_maxfps 0


This will effectively uncap your FPS allowing you the best your card can offer. The highest I've reached is 478! (and i have a screenshot to prove it )

You can view your FPS by using:

/set cg_drawFPS 1

aahhhhh identical to q3, that's handy! I wonder if the same ratio of /cl_maxpackets -to- /com_maxfps should be applied, as in q3. Hhhmmm must .cfg tinker at lunch time

/edit - btw, applying q3 command logic, if you use
/seta command
it should save the settings to the default config file.

You know, Im not sure about all this configging bollocks in a game like Call of Duty. What is the point in 9 people crawling about in a dark map, when the tenth bloke has gamma 19.2345 or whatever, and for him its as bright as the Sahara at 11 am :/

ah no, don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those who change things to look super bright, blocky, fuzzy, boring graphics-wise For example, my q3 config file is totally customised, but is still acceptable to OSP and PB and still looks sexeh!
I'm thinking in terms of game, network, sound and memory allocation settings, as much as graphics tweaks. Some things you just can't access through the in-game menus. Some graphics things i'll turn off, but these tend to be things which barely effect visual quality, but can help increase fps.
I'll post a link once I've got something sorted, incase you're interested
