Hi

I was just wanting to compare FPS's with different systems

I just got a GF2 GTS DDR card, and well from my crappy tnt2 which would stutter at about 5fps no matter what res/detail, ive gone to about 35 - 70 fps with EVERYTHING on high, 32bit, etc etc etc

This is on a 1gig T-Bird, and 128 meg ram

It takes a while for all the textures to be cached in 32 bit though, probs need mor memory right?

Cheers

More ram would obviously help and at around 20 pounds for a 64 meg stick it won't hurt your pocket much.

If you have some time to waist then you could try re-installing the game, couple of months ago I got a GF 2 MX to replace a crappy V3 and at first was dissapointed with the small FPS increase I got but then after a re-install my FPS jumped by about 25.

Also, with a GF2 GTS DDR you should be able to use either the quick loading texture compression or even possibly no texture compression which will make level loading times quicker (and is supposed to stop that occasional ugly texture line that you sometimes get) without that much of a performance drop.

set ur texture compression to "none" change the 32bit to palletized, doesnt degrade the graphics and the game and loading is quicker,

256mb ram PC133 is £25 now, 128mb ram is £15

RAM RAM RAM RAM RAM :)

This game is a ram whore - you need about 196 meg to do it right (and it's DIRT cheap at the mo).

My GeFarce1 DDR works gr8 with it btw - with most settings on max. (I've turned the sky down a bit and a couple of other fluffs - but that's about it).

Have fun :)
