FOV Change - Is this possible?

Awite knowledgeable cunts (lo beard, lo fat jobless cunt :D) - is it possible to bind a FOV change so that it is a progressive change, and will zoom in the longer the button is held down? E.G. I'd like to bind mouse2 to be able to zoom for as long as I hold it down for.

Is this possible? If so, how?

Yeah hi - I asked a question. An answer would be nice.

Reason? Because I use FOV 120 as my standard FOV, and never ever zoom. I don't have one bound. Sometimes, and often map dependent, I'd like to be able to zoom in a small amount, aiding railing a tad.

No, it's impossible. Not only does Q3 not have keypress/keyrelease binding [natively], but it would be pretty useless/impossible even if it did(try it in q2).

I use zoom on my mousewheel.

Not sure about the 'progressive zoom', but if u wanna choose a zoom that suits, try changing seta cg_zoomfov "x".

I use

seta cg_zoomfov "60" which zooms in a lot less than the default and is better imo. u could play around with this.

Here's my zoom script:

set zoomlevel1 "set cg_zoomfov 50;set zoomup vstr zoomlevel2;set zoomdown vstr zoomlevel3;set sensitivity 20;+zoom"
set zoomlevel2 "set cg_zoomfov 25;set zoomup vstr zoomlevel3;set zoomdown vstr zoomlevel1;set sensitivity 17;+zoom"
set zoomlevel3 "set cg_zoomfov 50;set zoomup vstr zoomlevel1;set zoomdown vstr zoomlevel2;set sensitivity 25;-zoom"
set cg_zoomfov "50"
set zoomup "vstr zoomlevel1"
set zoomdown "vstr zoomlevel2"
bind mouse3 "vstr zoomlevel3"
bind mwheelup "vstr zoomup"
bind mwheeldown "vstr zoomdown"

A 2 level zoom script, which uses the mousehweel, and has mouse3 as an escape feature. It used to be 3level, but i had no use for the uber-zoom, so i guess i could bind mouse3 to something differant now...

I'll probably just bind mouse2 to switch between my default, normal FOV (120), and something like 90 or 80. Give me code! :p

// Zoom
set zoomin "cg_fov 80; bind mouse2 vstr zoomout" // Zoom
set zoomout "cg_fov 120; bind mouse2 vstr zoomin" // Restore
vstr zoomout
