For those still trying to register

My accounts were registered on Thursday. Since then, I've spent god knows how long continuing to spam the button on behalf of my friends to get them in. Unless I'm hideously mistaken, I've now activated 7 accounts for people, templars and non, by spamming the button over the last 5days or so. The advice I'm going to write here is not going to make registering it any quicker, but it may make things easier.

1. After every click that fails, dont get angry  . Its not going to make you feel any better about things, and unless your a jedi or something, its not going to convince the button to accept you next time. Yes, its a crap website. Yes, GOA's CS has been as useful as an armsman looking for a corner in a round room (the lights are on and their making the right noises, but noones home) Deal with it. Focus on the job at hand. Thats the situation youre in. Moan about it afterwards, but just get it done :wall:

2. Have some music playing in the background, or the TV, or a puppy on your lap <but debuff the drool first> Anything to keep your mind off how crap the service is. Relax, and suddenly its not quite the awful chore it is if thats the only thing your doing. Same principle as washing up music, eastenders whilst youre ironing etc etc.

3. I know its been said before, but I'm going to just quickly pop it in here too, as people still seem to be doing it. Dont hit refresh on your browser if you get the error message. Rehit the account button to restart the process. Refreshing just takes you straight to the error message again :) not good. Also, copy/paste the password in, but type the username. After about ten types, you can actually type the user name quicker than you can copy paste it.

4. If you feel yourself starting to get frustrated, stop doing it. I've never done it for more than 2hrs at any sitting. Most people know I'm quite patient, but I also have good taste in music <i think i do anyway> If you start hurling obscenities, stop, take a break, and try again after an hour or something.

5. Stressing it once more, but dont burst a blood vessel over this. Contrary to popular belief, its not the end of the world. People who fly off into one over something as minor as this dont really get any respect from me. :twak: . I've known people go through hell in their lives, and I've seen and been humbled by the strength theyve shown and coping, getting through it. Take a moment and think on where this is rating in the grand scheme of things. Its not actually that important, is it. Oh bless, youve not been able to play a new part of a game for a few days. You know you will eventually, and youve not actually lost anything at all. So why get stressed over it? Its a game.

Yes, this isnt ideal, and no, GOA's probably not done themselves any favours through this <registration i mean, im not blaming them for the patch day itself>. Welcome to Life. Not a nice place at times, but hey, we're all here. At least with this, we know we're going to get what we want in the end.

I know people who have far more serious problems, who dont really know how things will turn out, and can't really see the light at the end of the tunnel. It humbles me to see them take each day at a time, and not get stressed over things they can't change. Worry about the ones you can.

Go ahead and flame me to bits. Frankly I couldnt give a rats arse :great:

When I try to hit the Validate button beneath my cd key it just jumps to the top of the page.........

Can someone please tell me how to overcome this.

Try changing your subscription to 6 months - this should solve it jumping to the top of the page. Well it's worked for at least 2 others anyway - You should then be able to change the subscriptiopn back to whatever period you want later.

just pressing enter instead of validate did the trick.

I think its a broken link.

Now I can enter the game but it crashes to desktop after the player creation screen.

Running SI on a AMD XP1800 1,53Ghz CPU. GeForce4 Ti200
640mb DDR RAM.

Why should I have any problem at all. Someone please tell me.

Recon I will be changing OS to WinXP today if I can find it.
