I only played Thief 1. And couldn't think 2 or 3 could match it, so never played it.

Thief 1 and 2 were ACE!
I recently bought me an old single core machine and a 17" crt just to play the old Thief titles again (ok.. and a couple more retro games from the 90ies).

Just like Imgormiel, I´m affraid Eidos messes up (again). It´s pretty hard to transfer the charm of 1 and 2 to todays standards. :/

I played all three many times and I played the unreal tournament mod which was teh roxx. It's amazing how much time some people will dedicate a project they are enthusiastic about and then give it away for nothing - was amazing too.

Thief 3 err (gestculates hand in a wavering motion with a disappointed face) /shrug

The forum at least proved interesting that Eidos were prepared to at least challenge the format right to its very core. But you can read the forums for peoples response to that. If it runs smoother, better and it's not just about the fluffy gfx but about what Looking glass thought that should make a game ie challenging game play with lots of tricky twists. Then I am all for it. Gotta have Stephen Russell and Garrett in the new one, else fail and don't even start it
