afaik no characters have ever been deleted due to them being away for a long period of time

On a sidenote:
How long are so-called "deleted" characters recoverable?
Not that i wanna recover any but the deleted ones that didnt leave guild before deletion still show as part of the guild in Chronicles.

well, a friend of mine just came back the game after killing off his lvl 4x cleric and tried to get him respawned but GOA couldnt(wouldnt?) do it as they had lost the record of the char. he left approx. 9 months ago i believe.

All current inactive characters don't get deleted by GOA.
If you have a deleted character, you have to restore them before they patch to a new version.
