I'm still surprised really. I really dont understand these fans who think a manager is going to come in ,resolve all the motivational issues, bring in the perfect transfer who will adjust to the country straight and all adapt to new tactics in the first 6 months, its absolutely crazy

as i've said before, its down to allardyces tactics. we toon fans dont want to watch crap football, even if it works.

whoever comes in better understand that. we want entertaining football as a priority, success secondary (unless its v the mackems ofc then its TOP priority to win)

sooooo.... anyone wanna buy Joey Barton from us? :p

Along with Spurs fans they annoy shite out of me..

Can't wait for Shearer to be installed and 6 months down the line we hear the Shearer out chants!

If it gets Shearer off Match of the Day for a couple of years I am happy. ;)

How is he at washing dishes and cleaning carpets? If he is good then I am prepared to stump up £5 for a 4 year contract.

How many times will the same cycle have to repeat itself before the egotistical little turds that are newcastle fans get it into their thick skulls that a new manager isn't always the answer.

I'm convinced if those disgraceful fans hadn't booed and shouted at every, single miniscule little thing they didn't like, alardyce would still be in.

My predictions for the coming year:

The new guy will come in
Injuries will hit current key members of the team
Injuries will hit the new guys signings
They'll struggle
Newcastle fans will boo and shout all the time
He'll be sacked about this time next year

And the cycle will start again.

Newcastle haven't won a noteworthy trophy for over 50 years and they won't win one for another 50 because the fans control the club and their fans are a set of idiotic c*nts.

Newcastle fans are amongst the most passionate and knowledgable in the world. The fact they haven`t won anything is put up with by the ones i know aslong as they get to see some attractive entertaining football. This is where footballs dying. The paying customer is expected to put up with boring negative ' result' driven tactics because its seen as a winning trophy formula. Give the toon army a team that plays like Arsenal with or without a trophy and they`ll be more than happy. I personally have the same issue with my team Nottingham Forest. I wa slucky enough to watch them through the Brian Clough era and a couple of his ex players who became our managers who believed the ball was meant to be passed on the ground not punted and chased at 1000 miles an hour for 90 mins like our last 3 managers.

Sam Allardyce found a formula for a small town club(abit like David Moyes) that helped them over achieve. That formula was never going to work at a big club and its the fault of the chairman for not being in tune with his fans and clubs history to understand that .Not the fans who refuse to sit and pay alot of money to be bored.

I support newcastle!

Up the toon! and all that :D

To tell the truth though its very rare for me to watch any tv nowadays, so I rarely watch the matches. I was a more interested supporter when I was younger, used to have my room decked out in the colours, posters of the team all over the place rofl, infact I've still got that "haway 5-oh" video from when we beat man u 5-0 after they'd beaten us 4-1 :D

I confess to knowing next to nothing about football nowadays, but I just get the impression that everythings gone downhill due to the lack of strong characters, back in the 99/00 season we had it set, now things just dont seem to be working, its just such a shame really.

The biggest problem is Astley sitting with the away fans. Regardless of who the manager is sitting listening to fans week in week out when things are not going right is a bad place to be at. More so because he will be sitting with the same fans at away game more times than not.

I feel for Sam, those supporters that say they want attractive football are as foolish as Spurs fans. Win trophies, success brings confidence = players willing to try something a bit different.

Newcastle united need to get over Shearer he scored a few goals but hes a cock :p He aint got his badges, he is shit on MOTD.

Don't think the cold and wet is that much of an issue, it doesn't stop Man U buying players. (*mutters*)

I don't think Allardyce was ever gonna be a success at Newcastle, his play style wasn't gonna sit well, because the vocal crowd think that they are amongst the top teams in the premiership (Us Man City fans tend to have similar delusions every couple of weeks :) ). Everyone else knows better of course. It's not realistic to expect them to turn into Arsenal or Chelsea in 6 months, as there's one heck of a lot to turn around there. They need a manager with a lot of character to keep the fans happy, so the board stay of his back, so he can actually then get on with the job of taking them somewhere in the league.

Sadly i can't see Mourinho et al volunteering for the job :D

The idiots chanting for Alladyce out do need to realise the 'glory days' of a few years back are gone, and yeah they need to be patient. But the manager has to have the personality to win them over, and let's face it, Sam isn't a crowd pleaser.

How many of the last 7 managers in the last 11 years at St James Park have been crowd pleasers?

glory years?!? how long ago was that now? :p

someone once described Newcastle as the Mt Etna of british football, one day... it could erupt and become one great big fireball right to the top... but with their luck Mt Etna might get there first at this rate o_O

i like the newcastle team (apart from Barton who is a knob), always my first choice on Fifa! ;)

*Chuckles* yeah obviously i meant the brief period a few years ago when they were in the top 4.

I like the Mount Etna analogy actually. They've had potential for a good number of years, and other than a few bursts of form, never delivered.

Joey Barton imo should be thrown out the game. He was a tw@t at City, and regardless of what he's been like in a few interviews, still is.

yeah send him to jail for a few years imo :p

well newcastle have some great players (Martins, Owen, Duff, Milner, N'Zogbia, Given ones i can think of from top of head) and crap loads of fans (who travel to away games too) but sometimes they expect a bit too much of their managers (they've also hired some terrible managers :p )

Thats the thing do people really think shearer is going to have a different style of play to Big Sam? Look at the type of player he was there is no way he's going to be into the way the Gunners play :)

Sir bobby

oh and as for the shearer as manager, i never want to see him as manager it could destroy the idol status he has up here if he failed. I think we need a but foreign manager like hiddink or such. I dont think english mangers can cut it anymore

Newcastle fans need a reality check they are a very well supported club with some great fans. Prolly the best fans that have come to Arsenal. But they are not a big team and baring a Chel$ki type move they will not break into the top 4. I know Arsenal were still in europe and the top four but the last two years we have finished 4th, the only time under Wenger we have not been top 2. The papers were trying to get him sacked but with the exception of a few arse clowns on 5L he was not under pressure from the fans at all. Maybe thats what the new Newcastle manager will need much like Rafa might at Liverpool 18 months - 2 years with the new players to get a team ready for success.

How is he at washing dishes and cleaning carpets? If he is good then I am prepared to stump up £5 for a 4 year contract.

He will stab you in the eye with a mop if you ask him to clean and then he will fight you if you get in his way while he's heading to make a cuppa.

They must have someone in mind to start fairly soon tbh because if they don't the transfer window will be closed before they gat a new man and they won't be able to get any decent players in.
