what happens if the bottom 4 in the conference would play in conf south, do the regional conferences just get bigger/smaller for a season?

Ive wondered this too as my home town team Fleetwood are vying for prmotion from the unibond premier to the blue square conference north.

Edit, ive just done a quick google search and it seems that some blue square north teams would have to switch to the south or vise versa depending on the teams comming down from the premier. I dont know how true this is as it was off a non football forum

ah so if (just purely theoretical) Bournemouth, Portsmouth, Woking and say Reading all were in the conference, Bournemouth and Portsmouth would be in south and Woking/Reading would end up in northern?

The leagues are switched around so that there is a regional split between the two. So if all four would be in the south the two most northern teams in the Blue Square South would switch to the Blue Square North.
