Can anyone tell me what a focus bonus is, and how it affects your spell casting?

From what i believe - focus means less mana for spell casting. I know for sure with my necro using a focus staff at my level i end up getting more spells off within the mana pool, thers more to it than that i guess, anyone else wana comment.

Nxs is right.
If you have no staff, a spell will cost 120% of the listed amount. With any staff it will be 100%. If your spellfocus is half of the spell level (for example, 25 darkness focus and L50 darkness spell), it will cost 90% of the power. If your focus is equal or greater to spell level, it will cost 80%.
Or something like that.

A couple more Qs...
Is there a way to see your total focus bonus other then looking at all yr items and adding it up?
Do they stack, i.e. do two +10 bonus items = +20?

Since Focus can only be put onto staves (any items with +focus that are not staves are bugged), the focus you have will be whhats on the staff. There's no adding up bonusses.
