Technically it's impossible. What they can do is get an idea of what happens in a black hole. Fear not, there is no danger associated with this. Currently there is nothing on earth that can generate the energy required to make a real black hole of any size. Or anything that can pose a danger. I must admit though the thought of it is quite alarming

These kind of particle bombardments have been happening on the moon for billions of years and happen still every second. Currently no black holes have been created as a result. Also the same kind of thing happens every time a cosmic ray collides with another particle. Apparently there are quite a few of these every second. I wont put a number to it but it's a fair bit
