I know that the Order of Kalina have a few 500+ Fletchers, but how many other high level Fletchers are there?

Utopia has one, at 650 i think it is, and 1 at 450, but working 24/7 :)

from 18 active members, this is a rather high percentage :D

armor smith at around 500

weapon at 350-400

tailor (me! yay!) 300-ish

and when enchant/alchemy/whatever comes, we will pick those up as well

soon, Utopia will be able to build our own siege, all alone (except perhaps if we lack pack mules :p )

I'm at 556 at the moment but it's slow going and damned expensive. We really need a high level fletcher in Albion for when the new materials become available....good quality bows are hard to come by :(

I know!

I picked it up because we will soon be able to craft crossbows and instruments, so we really want to get ahead so we can get the jump on Hibernia and Midgard!

Yay....hit 600 in fletching (cost 950gp to get 44 points :( ) ....no wonder nobody seems to be doing fletching to high levels atm.
Why is fletching the dearest in terms of Gp loss per item ?
Methinks Mythic does not like Scouts full stop

Probably dates back to the Battle of Agincourt ;)

I think that it is because we use all of the additional skills, ie Metalworking, Leatherworking, Clothworking and Woodworking.

I bet a lot of the cost goes on training those.

ROTFL. Try weaponcraft. You will feel the pain of material loss there.

For secondaries: Take up some other crafts. You can easily and very cheap increase the following skills by doing the following crafts:

Leatherworking: Armorcraft, Tailoring, Weaponcraft (sword-type weapons with hilts, the dirk/stiletto/main gauche line is cheapest to do)

Metalwork: Armorcraft, Tailoring (studded armor and above), Weaponcraft

Woodwork: Weaponcraft (axes and the like, weapons with hafts, the hammer/mace/flanged mace line is cheapest to do)

Clothworking: Tailoring and Armorcraft

Your secondaries will rocket up like hell, even if you are very high in fletching and low in the other skills. Doing bronze weapons/rawhide armor is very cheap and will take your secondaries a long way. I advise you to make complete items though, especially when weaponcrafting. Your secondaries then have the chance of a double increase (one for blade, one for complete weapon) and you can salvage or sell the weapon afterwards.

Raising the secondarys is easy to do...tailoring,armourcrafting and weaponcrafting raise them at next to no cost at all and is very quick to do.
It's the actual cost of making bows (staffs are even more expensive) to raise fletching skill (2gp to 5.5gp loss for one runewood bow....stonewood is 3gp to 7.5gp e.t.c. all approx) for runewoods i generally lost 40gp and raised fletching 1 skill point..stonewoods and above will be even more expensive :(
The equivalent in armourcraft...mithril...is about 74sp to 2gp per item, tailoring is 63sp to 1gp 23sp.......but on weaponcrafting 2gp to 7.5gp....Ouch,that is really bad :( my sympathies on that Hendrick
Hopefully fletching will be better to raise when we can make xbows and instruments......but it seems you are f.u.b.a.r. on weaponcrafting costs ;)
/em bow :)

Salvage cost for adamantium guarded rapier: 13g some silver. Feel the pain.

Hehe....nothing to salvage with bows except a few bits of wood which might make a nice little breadboard ;)
Oh well, just have to wipe out the local boogey population a dozen times to get enough for the next skill point rise. :D

Just go kick your guilds butt. They should happily support their crafters with any spare coin.

Do that already :) but i like kicking boogeys butts as well....so satisfying to see em turn tail and run.....as if i'll stop shooting them in the back ;) but they do drop nice amounts of cash and the gems are always handy too :D
