Any of you funky guys and gals have recommendations for a 28" flat screen TV please? ~ tempted by plasma but can't really justify the expense atm.

Cheers

Just the normal widescreen - not the £3k flat ones :)

Woolworths sell a cheap BEKO (who?) 28" flat widescreen for £230. For the money you cant complain. Not great on the connection options, just 2 scarts and an ariel afaik. But the screen is flat, and picture seems ok, and its quite small.

Whats the obsession with flat? Technically, its more difficult to achieve, therefore won't there be some compromise towards to corners of the picture in terms of quality?

I'm not criticising your choice, just wondering thats all.

- the gains made from having a flat screen outweigh any losses made from the compromises you'd have to make in tube design (mine's sharp right to the edges).....

....and they look cool :)

Buy Sony.

I'm sorry, but I think buying a company because you want a new TV is a bit stupid.

You'd have to buy a hell of a lot before it'd work out cheaper to buy Sony.

That's true, but I still command you to buy Sony.

Failing that, just buy a Sony Triniton TV instead.

Yes, but what exactly are those gains? Less reflection to be sure, but that implies more careful positioning. Also, wouldn't the neck of the CRT need to be longer?
