And no, I won't rant about full-flash sites.
There are - however - quite a few out there (myself included) who are using IE7 and get a "install flash player" message slapped in their face while trying to access websites that have flash detection scripts running. Even after installing said plugin you face the same problem over and over again, no matter how many times you clear the cache, reboot etc. This is due to a corrupt flash player installation.
Some websites have even gone lengths to provide the user with a link that basically says "But I do have flash installed - just let me bypass your detection so I can view the site!" - upon clicking said link the site magically works even though the detection script claimed you didn't have the plugin installed.
Alas, if the website of your choice does not provide such a link *ahem* - one of these two solutions might work for you:

Solution 1:
- Close all open programs
- Run Adobe Flash Player Uninstaller
- Reinstall the Flash Player
- Download the Full Flash Player Stand-alone Installer for Internet Explorer - link goes directly to the download, verify the URL before downloading.
- Right click the file and select Run As Administrator. (or Run As... and then select Administrator from the list, or "Run Elevated" in Vista).
