tried the cs 1.4 beta. I wish I hadn't now, I really cant be bothered to pla 1.3 anymore.

Its the most polished CS I have played, and the new spectator options really make the game complete. The lack of jumping tits is also greatly appreciatted. I will be playing this a lot once its finally released, will rekindle my failing intrest in cs.

i played on it a few weeks back, it takes fuckin AGES to get into a server tho, i only had a 1on1 on that Mansion one (chateau?) so i didnt get to much out of it, like speccy mode and what have you.

but i liked the bit where it flies around your body at your death, its like The Matrix

Jumping now has a "meter" like the stamina meter in DoD, etc. Its gonna annoy a lot of people, tbh I don't like it, but I hate the way it can kick in if you drop off a lader early, sooooo annoying

People always bang on about beta 17.4 or whatever boring ol nonsense it is.
I know we dont always agree ch3tan, but on this subject we do. Ive only been play cs a year or so, but every patch has been an improvement. Id gladly be rid of all the gay jumping .
Personally, Id also be glad to get rid of the wierd recoil business, you know bullets going anywhere after the 4th or 5th bullet, but thats probably my ineptitude speaking

That sounds like my entire CS strategy out of the window. I don't play DoD partly because of that (IMO) stupid stamina system and aren't really looking forward to it knackering my CS. :/

yeah, i dont like it after one jump you slow down, in real life you would get tired after about 4/5 but not 1.. :/

Or they atleast stoped people from shifting they player models at nearly double it's 'class' balanced speed.

Still never happen will it, guess the dm tactics are here to stay.

Just glad there ditching them from cs, shame the upper echelons of the TFC community don't share the cs brothers ideas about balanced team game strategy

Ohh that is unless it involves anything that gets in the way of anoying cappers (the upper echelons) then it's problems sorted either 1 or 2 patches down the line

The jump thig is welcomed by me personally, as running with a knife and jumping around runnning are the same speed wise, it makes no difference to me. It will ruin the jump and shoot strategy of a lot of players, but thats really not a bad thing

and 4-5 jumps? smoke for a couple of years and see if you can jump around wearing full kit, armour, carrying grenades, a pistol, a rifle. of course you'd probably be arrested or shot for carrying grenades, a pistol, and a rifle

and anyway, even if you could jump 4-5 times before getting tired out, you still slow down when you hit the ground, something to do with momentum and gravity.

The natural reaction for most players getting shot from an unknown assailant is to jump around. I wonder if the guys at valve or wherever will include the ability to 'hit the deck', or perform some kind of roll.

That might be a good thing. I'm not sure I want people going prone, now that would be annoying.

Of course Elite armed forces around the world are know for their heavy smoking, and lax fitness regimes.

TBH though I do agree, jumping is not realistic in the situations portrayed in CS and so steps should be taken to remove it. Hopefully things will not be taken quite as far as in DoD, where it is sometimes frustratingly difficult to make a simple jump over a low wall.

Just because some very good players rely on bunny hopping does not mean it should not be removed though.

As far as CS 1.4 goes, I have always looked forward to new versions, and my score always plummets, until I get used to it anyway, so I am not sure whether to look forward to it this time or not! Added to that there is the mad dash to download the patch, find a mirror, etc. At least I am lucky to have DSL this time.

Do all the BW servers change to the new version at exactly the same time? Would it not be possible to change half first and the other half a couple of days later to allow those with 56k and other problems time to get the files? Just an idea.
