Aye, well as my sig has been saying for some months....
Today I got a work placement for the biggest newspaper in my city - the Liverpool Echo.
The reason I am doing this is to pass my final exams next year for my NCTJ (professional journalist qualification). Hopefully this will see the end of my exile (which was in some form self imposed) from my old favourite job and start to rebuilding my life and my career again (what's left of it ).
It was quite easy really, which I didn't understand because breaking into this business is hard and really cut-throat. I guess the retraining is helping in that respect and that I have previous experience.
I seriously wouldn't advise anyone to look at this job as a career life because of how snotty it can be at times and the extremely long hours of work you undertake - it's nowhere near as glamorous as people think :E
