It uses 2 SI gems
and I managed to make the whole set no failures 1st time for about 800 gold materials cost, mainly 98 -99 qual gems with MP's if i got them.

Tilda, you made some errors still:
First, the highest gem costs double, so it's best to create all about equal gems. So with just 1% resists on some stuff you're really hurting the value of the items. All 5 point overcharges are able to get 61.3 utility. Move some stuff around and you'll be able to fix it.
Also: check out Cabalist Boots and Leggings, they have a utility of 66.7, better then SC, use them and build around them. Maybe you can do better without the +spirit and +matter, but these are free.

the +1's are just to finish off capping resists.
rather than it being un econimical i was finding i just ran out of slots to put gems in, thus my combo works quite well.
This is because the lower gem value you need, the more slots u need to cap something.
Thus i had only 2 slots with hits, this mean I could "finish off" a resist cap by using lower qual gems.
This imo is better if your trying to cap everything, if your happy just capping a few stats and not doing mamoth overcharging.

You could possibly squeeze a little more out of it with a little more balancing (11% slash resist in one place, 1% slash resist in another - surely those could be split 7/5) but it caps all stats/resists, additional +skill would give very little benefit - so it looks good enough to me

2 veiled bracer of eyes bracers on a caster, sounds expensive Still a nice template, my theurg still uses epic legs, utility 72.7.
My caba also uses epic boots utility 66.7. But thats mostly because of the +skill, 37/32 imbue points is nice and often imbue points is a better reference than utility.
