Final Hunter Template

I've been messing with a template for a Hunter....

All capped save Crush, Heat and Cold which are all 2 pts off.
All items fairly easy to get, but uses lots of oc on MP items.
I don't have the Spear yet.

[edit] Someone (thx!) suggested a better template to get 2 extra hits :)

Theres a slight problem with it, you've got +11 Spear instead of +11 sword, aside from that nice ;)

well how hard can it be to do it whit all mp parts?

i dont know but it dont look so hard.
i cap 3 skills and all resits but 2 fire and 5 hits and 3 con whit only 99 stuff

5.5 oc but anyway.

/edit and no tg stuff or anyting like that the oly thing i have is a WoW cloak

I didn't say it was hard... or easy.... :) the items are probably the most important bit....

If you are refering to a Warrior template, I'd like to point out that any shield carrier/ duel weld char is far easier to sc because they have an extra item (extra 32 imbue pts).
Hunters carry 2h bow and switch to 2h weapon....

What do u use when u have +11 bow and +11 in spear?

is it only the spear or is it only the bow or is it both?

Added it up, this is as if he had both bow and spear equipt, which obviously cant happen but then he wont ever need +11 bow and +11 spear at the same time anyway.

Only thing is, when he switched to spear he will loose 4hps!!11 :D

ok i have look closer at it and i discoverd 3 things.

1 when u switch from spear to bow u lose 2hits and 17 quick.
2 when u go from bow to spear u lose 22 str.


3 This is a very good template : ) How did u do it ? I`ll ask u when its time for my skalds template : )

I could have told you that without using a calc :p

He wont need str to use his bow, and quickness is better lower with weapons as the styles hit for more and give frontloaded damage, yet with bow there is no style bonus so quick is needed.

So all he actually looses that he would have wanted is 4hits when switching to spear, which is liveable.

as hunter its nice to have high str so you can carry around enough stuff ;), certainly when an assassin str/con debuffs you :p. It isnt important, but it is annoying. Also quickness for spear will effect your damage. For 1 or 2 hits you will probably do more damage with lower quickness, but after that you will do most likely less damage over time. Besides you can argue that you want as fast as weapon as possible versus 2 sec swining dualwielding assassins with dragonfang/diamondback ;).

ow and if you dont use all 4 spots for your weapon the rest of the not usedgems will be seen as 94%, so you might wanna redo your template so you your weapons are using those 4 slots (which is smart anyway as it should increase its utility).

redid it got 1% lower matter and 2% more cold and got no difference on bow or spear. Also all spots are used everywhere, so that means that every spot is seen as 99% (non used spots are seen as 94% i heard). Ow and I didnt use a mp bow, so you could bump matter to 26% while using your bow.

Before I load this into my sc calc, I've a couple of questions, which I can't seem to find answers to anywhere (seems to very little documentation on resists).

How important are resists over say capping your stats/skills? I've approached my final spec from point of view of capping out skills, capping out important stats (i.e. dex, quick, str and hits - haven't worried too much about con, not sure if I should or not) and then piling rest into resists.

If resists are important which I believe some or all of them are, which are more important for a hunter in RvR, against both albs and hibs? I would guess thrust, crush and slash first, then what?

Also (and I think someone else answered for you) are you using MP studded armour for this template? If so how much does that add to the cost, as I can't find a AC that will craft it for me (yet). I am guessing about 5-6p extra over 99%.

Edit: P.S. This is good stuff and perfect timing for me (hoping to hit 50 in next few weeks)!

first i go for skills then i would go for con, hits, str, dex then the melee resists, quickness and body resist then the rest allthough energy is handy to have high as its the mezz of the sorcerer.

Now you first do hits over resists as 4 hits= 1 imbuepoint and 1 resist =2. Ow and 1.5 con =1 imbuepoint and thats 5.7 hits i think. Now I think its better to cap hits before resists as you see it like this;). Off course resists also shorter the duration of CC, but usually doesnt matter if you get cc'ed for 40 secs or 30 they will zerg you anyway ;).

and yes xmi this is mp studded armour, i wouldnt know what the price is. To be honest unless you are rich mp isnt worth it until you have played your hunter for a long time in rvr. Besides you also need to get procs on everything, which will increase your cost.

Why con, I heard that con is not too important so long as your resisits are reasonably high? Can't recall why now, think it was very briefly mentioned in the Hunter FAQ on camelotvault. I'll have to dig it out again and have a re-read, although I think the report is pre-current patch.

Gold isn't too much of an issue, as I've a Slavaging Master Tailor and for Procs, Xmi is a Master Alchemist, so I can do most of my procs for cost, or will by the time I really need it.

Any other views on subject would be very welcome.

1.5 con= 1 imbuepoint = 5.8 hp. Besides I think con might add some extra stuff besides pure hp. Anyway its cheaper to get con and hits than to get resists (which prevents that you take big hits).

i didn´t get if this 1 was xajorkith or it was yours driven but if it was xajorkith so he is only useing a 99qua spear but the bow he useses it mp

I might be totally off here, but doesn't con increase end pot? low con = fewer styles?

I always thought that the only thing that affected end usage was the style you were doing. When you /level to 20, your mana and hp go down as you level so by the time you are 20 you end up with about 5% of your hp and mana, but your end stays on full. Which makes me think nothing affects your end other than styles.

Not sure myself though either.

Nice template driwen, better than my attempt!

For an archer I think quick should be very high on the priority list of things to cap.

If you have high base skill (say 50) then it would be better (IMHO) to put points into resists rather than zealously cap your skills.

Most Armour Crafters skill up on studded and not chain, so 99% studded is really cheap.
MP's are easy to come by if you are a crafter in one of the main craft towns (etc Hagall), as what happens is an AC skilling up on studded boots makes a MP and immediately sells it on /b.
Asking a crafter to make an MP studded suit from scratch is very time consuming (often over 5 hours worth of work) and the crafter can end up with very little profit!
