"In January of 2010, Tetsuya Nomura followed up on his previous statement stating "Fans are looking forward to an oft rumored remake of FFVII, but I don't believe this will happen for the time being." For some this seemed like the end, but others argue that "for the time being" means a remake could surface in the future."
Smells like they're already working on something to me, it certainly would make sense given the end of crisis core saying "To be continued in final fantasy vii" one could argue they were refering to the original but given its not made anymore by any manufacturers they'd gain little by doing it and make quite alot of people that have never played the original before annoyed given they'd have to fork out £50-80 for FFVII on the ps1 - that said they did release FFVII on the PSN for £7.99 but still! my money is on remake and i'd put money on it being announced once FF XIII Versus is released.
