So, it's out on March 9th - who's getting it and who's giving it a miss? I was in doubt as I hated the combat system in FF12 and the MMO type of feel they tried to give it. I'm hoping they'll give this game more of an old school type of feel tbh.

I have never ever ever bought or played a FF game.

I doubt this will change, but if there is a demo and it's anygood, then who knows?

I'll very much be picking it up. Was also the reason I got my PS3.

I'll pick it up cheap much later. Only did FF12 last year. Not desperate for it at all.

Bad Company 2 out on the 6th so I'm not sure if I got FF I would play it but then go back to bad company and just not play FF again :(

and just cause 2 gets released when you've played bc2 intensively. (and then super street fighter IV!)

I'm too impatient to play these types of games :) I used to like rpg's, but it's not for me anymore.

Ditto, if not for BFBC2 I would definitely be picking it up. Still plugging away at Demon's Souls too, which is plenty of RPG for now.

Also, God of War 3 coming out at the same time? Too many games this month :/

Yeah, I only just played an hour before the Arsenal game started and it was pretty dull, but it always is before you can start getting new abilities etc.

Auto-battle is what I use the most right now =< Am about an hour past gaining both new systems, is quite good. I like the character development in the game now, albeit it seems slow (I can't work out how to unlock level 2 of the skill set?)

I read that the other levels open up at certain story points to prevent overlevelling.

It really is much better once you get paradigm shift. Not just the battle system, but the scenery, the music, etc. Though I too have only played like an hour past that point xD

copypaste-_-

After a slow start, I'm beginning to love this game. Chapter 6 was so good, yet somehow 7 kicked it's arse, and then chapter 9 holy shit...... game is getting good.

Loving the game as well, i've finally got my head around shifting Paradigms and how to stun enemies (can't remember what it's called, where you use the bar in the top right of the screen to gain a dmg bonus).

I thought I would have hated the real time based combat but it's excellent, I think the issue with FF12 was that it wasn't "instanced" as such and that it was within the game world and just generally clumsy. It's great you can skip mobs as well by either running past them or using a skill.

Anyone got any advice for choosing which crystal progression path for each char? If the chars stayed together it would be easy to choose a medic, commander and synergist etc but they keep mixing up. I'm guessing it's good to have ravanger quite developed for each char as it provides the best bonus for the stun thing but am not sure what else to do.

Best JRPG I have played in a long long time is Lost Odyssey, fantastic game and a fucking huge one at that. Will be picking FF up tommorow tho as I've always been a fan even tho I dont think they have hit the heights of FF7.

You can max 2 most of the time which is actually a good idea so that you can switch roles during the fights.

Glad it improves later. Have played for about 90 minutes and, quality of the effects and graphics aside, it has been desperately poor stuff. I am so fed up of watching cutscenes.

Can only agree with what others have said here.

Persevere past the first couple of hours and it gets sooo much better.

really starting to enjoy it now, and the battles get interesting shifting through the different paradigms and trying to find opponents weaknesses.

And the summons are ACE.

beautiful looking game as well
