Final encounter in Galladoria

Thanks to tali for that raid the other night.

We got to the final encouter.

I have taken the time to draw a highly detailed and strategic representation overview HUD plan of the area.

Please use this post to add comments and thoughts on how to kill those fecking menders.

1 thing.

After the raid I waited for everyone to leave. I stayed at a safe point behind the waterfall from this point, I was still well in shoot range of the Shadow (stealth) mender...

The menders are very weak. When it got to 95% which only took about 20 arrows) it IP'd....

Now this is very important!!!!!!

I had no buffs on (no self buffs also). If the mender heals itself when just 1 person is attacking the correct mob, this tell us 1 of 2 things. a) THERE IS SOME OTHER CUNNING TACTICS WE HAVE TO FIND. or B) its bugged.

B4 we go screaming bug we have to really test every option.

So we know these mobs will heal even if only the correct class attack them. Therefore we will not be able to kill the menders unless we stop them healing...

Options: Try and kill the EARTH, WATER, FIRE OR WIND ELE 1st.

Well I think the yanks tried killing water one and it got to 10% and sunk into the lake out of range and did some wierd stuff but ultimatly healed.

The earth one would be the easiest choice. But maybe it to heals???

The fire one is too tough and doesnt stay targetable long enough to kill and it will heal while its doing its circuit.

Same with wind.

Suggestion:

Maybe try and kill the earth mender frist????? worth a go??? no?? thoughts??

Maybe we needed to kill Aroon and all the other mobs b4 to stop menders from perma IP;ing.

Its an important point that the Shadow member healed itself just when i was the only 1 stealther person in galladoria attacking it.

Anyway this diagram should help team. dont laugh it took me 15 mins to do.

think we killed the water elemental the other night (sunday i think) before we started attacking the menders (it got pulled to the other side of the waterfall somehow). As far as I could see, everyone was attacking the right menders after that, but they just kept healing themselves. Not sure what we were doing wrong then...

I am not sure we killed a water one but we killed something that looked like a griffon/lioness which had a transparent texture.

well in that case if we know that the water ele dies without healing. why not, kill water, kill earth, Kill fire and wind (feck knows how)

Then try menders.

Oks found out you cant kill the earth one either.

So its got to be Water First.

Then Fire or Wind gulp.

With the Fire one dead it takes the pressure of and you can piss around in the chamber...

Christ knows how to kill the fire one though.

Just a thought,,

After reading through the net,,

Couldnt the elementals be linked in some way

some elementals may have an affinity for another element. Magma, volcanos and lava represent the union of earth and fire. With such molten and explosive qualities they are equally at home on earth, but also in Hades and Brimstone. Geysers are the descendants of fire and water and also fall into this category. The fountains, springs and babbling brooks are all the offspring of water and air.

Just a thought mind :)

Forrest have u been smoking that pipe again???

We need hardcore pwn tactics here!!!!!

Just kidding, any ideas are good ones. Important though, Did you get that quote off some mythic web site????

Maybe if we kill the Water Elemental 1 of the 4 menders will no longer IP.

Then we need to kill another Elemental and find the next mender that wont IP???

and so on and so forth.....

Well no, just wandering through some astrological websites :)

As recently as a few thousand years ago, Western scientists considered the whole earth to be made of 4 elements: Earth, Air, Fire, and Water.

Maybe they have to be killed in reverse,

Therefore : Water then Fire then Air then Earth..

May be a shot in the dark but could the elementals be linked to damage types/resists ?

they are yes,

Olcasgean 87 Unknown
Corrupt Primal of Air 83 Void GTAOE
Corrupt Primal of Earth 83 Crush
Corrupt Primal of Fire 83 Unknown
Corrupt Primal of Water 83
Guardian Earthmender 73 Guardian Classes ONLY
Magical Earthmender 73 Magician Classes ONLY
Natural Earthmender 73 Naturalist Classes ONLY
Shadowy Earthmender 73 Stalker Classes ONLY

but it doesnt help a lot...

the fire one tends to pwn anything that it dumps on.

can anyone confirm they made attempts on the menders after ALL the boss mobs (aroon OGM etc were killed) and they healed in the same way.

Again just guessing,

But has this been done?

Could be linked to the other boss mobs in Galla too..

Btw I read that water has been taken a fair few times,, so maybe your right in that it has to be killed 1st.

Every1 seems to think that the earth mob is invun, so has to go last?

US servers (after patch 1.58 or so) have cleared the water/earth primals and killed all the menders. Noone has killed fire or air yet. Oclasgean has been killed 2 times to my knowledge, both times on *Pendragon test raids AFTER developers have dropped the levels on fire and air primal to something people can actually damage*

Fire and air should be "doable" in 1.60, but noone bothers cause they're just not worth the hassle. Clear dungeon, skip Aroon (Mythic adjusted the encounter to "work as intended" so it wipes 70 people raids) and gank Water, maybe some of the menders as they should be pretty easy and suicide out with the loot.

Dont know how the water primal works in 1.60 but in this version, make one sad person go to waterfall when rest are safe at tunnels. The sad suicider aggroes the water primal which actually after killing the puller rushes into tunnels and is easy to do there.

That is how we did it last time :)

I assume you've read (part of) this thread:

http://vnboards.ign.com/message.asp?topic=41447313&page=1

(which is about 17 pages long at the moment):

I've taken this bit from the last post:

The other mobs in the dungeon have nothing to do with the earthmenders healing. The encounter is designed for 100+ people, and the only way to kill those earthmenders is to damage them faster than they can heal each other. The way we did it was, we had the mages kill their earthmender first. PBAE really packs a punch against em, but can hit the other menders causing them to heal. If all the mages do their mender first, then we don't have to worry about the other menders healing. Once the mage earthmender is down, then the other classes can focus on their menders. The Earth Primal cannot be killed until the earthmenders are dead.

Once all 4 Primals are dead, Olcasgean spawns. He is really just the roots writhing around, and is pretty easy to zerg dead (from the pendragon test he seemed easy anyway.)

Nobody seems to have been able to even damage the fire and air-elemental yet though....

Edit:

This part seemed interesting too, taken from the same post:

Ok, I think I've got a few ideas from last nights raid into Galladoria on Percival.

This is how I would fight, up to the point that we've gotten so far on Percival:

1. Before Entering the final chamber divide your raid into class specific groups, Naturalists, Stalkers, Guardians, and Magicians.

2. Send in one person to watch for the Fire Primal. Keep an eye out for it. Once the Fire Primal has left the chamber after it's first appearance then do the next step.

3. Send in one group to grab aggro from the Primal of Earth and then run up the ramp to the back, near the waterfall. I noticed that if a person with aggro was up there the Primal of Earth would no longer defend his Menders allowing the easy killing of the menders.

3. After that one group has grabbed Aggro from the Primal of Earth have the entire raid run into the room.
Now here's my idea on running in and preventing yourself from falling into the water. You fall into the water because of the buffeting winds, those winds are at the landing point. If you enter the chamber and you're not on autorun then you pause for a momemnt and fall into the water.
When you run in do it with speed and auto run on. That way you get into the center of the room and don't fall into the water. I always do this, and I've never fallen into the water.

4. Once in the room zerg the Primal of Water first. He's really easy to kill with a big raid.

5. Next divide up and attack your mender.

As far as Menders are concerned, and we went back with a group of eight Naturalists after the raid to test on the Naturalist it seems that any attack of any kind is fine on a Mender as long as it comes from the right class.

I used my damage add. Fine
I used a proccing weapon. Fine
I used styles. Fine
We healed each other. Fine

The only reason our group of eight wasn't able to kill the mender by ourselves was the healing it constantly received from the Shadow mender which was still alive.

6. ???? I don't know what to do after this, I think once you got all the Earth Menders down you should zerg the Primal of Earth.

very nice pictures censi, think mythic was looking for some new artists so might aswell quit your current job and work for them :great:

i believe the key to the kill all the menders is 5 things:

1) make the raid party stfu and pay attention while you explaining how to take on this encounter.

2) don't lose half the raid party due to can't-rez-in-water bug.

(obvious but very important those first 2!)

3) don't fight anything on the plateau unless the fire trail is done with it's patrol. it patrols rougly every 9 minutes and the patrol take about 1min.

4) let those profession you got most of in the raid party (guardians/naturalists/mages/stalkers) take on 1 mender 1st: buff them to the roof, chanter with highest enchantment spec hand out damage adds, group a bard for end song if appropriate, a warden for damage add and let them zerg it. (once 1 mender is down there is always another mender who gets no more healing, it appeared that magician mender heals guardian one, guardian->naturalist, naturalist->stalker, stalker->magician)

5) everyone who is not on the mender keep the earth primal busy and watch out for the fire trail.

no idea about olcasgean tho, i think the whole encounter is very much like aroon where you have to take on the mobs in a certain order :D

just my 2c

Damn - this is why we never take down apoc in alb - not enough diagrams.

btw, is the dead ranger of strategic importance? Or is it just a stern warning of the perils of rolling an archer class?
