Yep, it is true. The old bastard is retiring 
Recently I was ill for a couple of weeks and during that time I discovered the joys of that mythical beast they call 'real life'. After playing Jumpgate and DAoC for 4.5 years pretty much non-stop and now taking a break from playing made me realise all the things I had been missing out on. When I think of the hours /played I have over those 4.5 years it scares the hell out of me, the break kind of shocked me back into reality and made me realise that I wasn't enjoying playing anymore so why should I dedicate a large portion of my freetime to play something that is no longer fun.
So, here we are. My farewell speech, being a heartless old bugger I will try not to cry I have enjoyed this game alot during the last few years, much more than that though I have enjoyed the company and I have met some people I am proud to call friends. I have had my fair share of arguements (ok more than my fair share ) but when I look back now I realise that it was all pointless, I don't wish anyone ill and I have no bad feeling towards anyone. At the end of the day it is just a game, I lost sight of that at times and I can only apologise to anyone I upset or offended. We all say things we don't mean and this old fart is no exception.
Anyway, my accounts have a little while to run so you might see this good looking Avalonian love-god around from time-to-time over the next month. It may be me playing or my brother, feel free to spam me a /wave or two. Hell you can even try /sending me some c6'lovin.
Before I go I just want to say that is has been a pleasure to play on this server, even during the bad times. I want to wish every single one of you all the very best both in-game and in real life. Live long and prosper, go forth and multiply like rabbits!
