Argh Matrix Revolutions was awful, portentous dialogue with no substance. Actually the battle for Zion was well done, but the plot was craptacular. Made the Tax Returns look interesting.

Having just watched this trailer for Sin City (it's about 6:30! long so it might take some time to download) I think I'll have to revise my list. It looks simply amazing.

Wow!

That looks very good, I really hope it lives up to that trailer. I can only imagine the bill for the amount of top names they have manager to star in it.

Matrix Revolutions was brilliant. If you had a brain.

Sorry to upset leggy by picking you up on this, but please explain how Revolutions was brilliant. In fact i'd be impressed if you could give a convincing account of how it wasn't the poo that fills up my lower colon and overflows up into my intestines.

Upset me? Revolutions was a fucking travesty :)

I have continually said the only Matrix film worth watching was the first.

I was actually angry when I came out of the last one. It was insultingly bad.

Oh. Suddenly i think higher of you. In fact, it means i have less ammunition with which to pour scorn on your tastes next time we clash. Damn.

If they do make a film or films of His Dark materials then it would be utter madness to remove the religious aspect, and I for one would not spend a penny going to see it (although I might download it illegally in an attempt to overthrow New Line pictures!)

Because the first time I saw it, I came out of the cinema thinking "My god, that was brilliant.". Good enuff reason for me to think it's brilliant I feel. But if you want a few examples of what I liked.

  • The final battle between good and evil (Neo and Smith if you like licking windows of an afternoon) was so well done in my opinion. It gave the story a bit of balance I thought - Neo started off as a hacker and he ended as a hacker (I'll assume you know that's how he killed Smith in the end).
  • All the religious subtext. It kept my stoned brain ticking over nicely, and it stands to reason that there should be religion in the matrix. There's religion in any other society, why should the matrix be any different.
  • The battle for Zion. Just plain awesome imo.
There's loads more, but its ages since I seen the film, so those'll do for now. The only part of the film I didn't like was the ending, which was a bit too happy clappy for my liking. Still, much better than a bunch of dancing ewoks.

The Red Dwarf Movie (Although they'll probably ruin it.) - Of course that's if it gets made this year or at all.

Also I think Johnny mentioned serenity, can't wait for that.

Can't believe they're making Aeon Flux. I assume it'll be live action but I always found the style of teh cartoon to be one of it's main qualities.

Serenity? Firefly the movie? Good stuff, we can only hope that a successfull period at the cinema will convince someone to pick the series up.

I just checked out the movie site, looking good, but I don't seem to remember Aeon Flux having that much clothing :)

Apprently Thieron complained about the costume ...
