File associations question

I just upgraded my zip/rar software from a program called ExtractNow to the more popular winrar, however after uninstalling Xnow I seem to still have .rar files that are associating with it.

So im thinking there must still be something on the WinXP registry thats causing this? Would anyone know how I could improve on this? I was thinking maybe a registry 'cleaning' program or something. Im sure like everyone here I like my system to run at peak performance ~_^

Im pretty new to windows XP and still learning its 'ins and outs' at the moment. =)

Open your file browser, go to folder options, choose the file types tab. Should be pretty easy from there.

That is Win2k, but I assume XP is the same.

In previous versions of Windows you could hold down SHIFT as you right-clicked on the file and it would include the "Open With ..." option, this could be used to change the file association too, don't know if it still works under XP as I haven't tried it.
