I've had the exact same thing few years ago, with a few months in between (the stabbing pains when breathing only lasted for a minute or so). Heart raced somewhat, when i took deep breaths it felt like something piercing my chest. I don't know exactly what you mean by "heart beating erratically" tho. Anyway, the condition is gone and i haven't thought about it. If it was just a one time occurrence it is probable to assume nothing serious happened. But, i have no clue if there is such a thing as a "light heart attack".

Yes, it is possible to have a heart attack without noticing. They´re called "silence" or "hidden" heart attacks, at least in german. But since they´re leaving real scars, it´s possible to spot them even years later.

Just go to a doctor and get your heart checked out. Things like the ones you describe can have a variety of causes. Could be a problem with your spine. Also, a shortage of magnesium causes spasmic chest pain in the heart/episternum region.

I just got back from luch with a freind and she had to go to hospital at the weekend for a heart thing sounded horrible and was very shocking, don't mess about with anything like that tbh get it checked out at best it's wind and a bit of a waste of time and embarressment but you don't wanna risk it

A lot of people tear or sprain the tendons between the ribs. If you keep touching or kneading it because it's slightly tender then that is what it probably is. It's a stabbing pain which comes and goes with exertion, often mistaken for a heart condition.

Best to check with your doctor and if you feel like they are full of BS (they usually are) get a second opinion.
