any major bugs or downfalls with either version ?

PS3 is 720p (HD) with better sound and 1080p FMVs, 1 blu-ray.
360 is 576p upscaled, only DD 5.1 sound, heavily compressed videos, comes on 3 discs.

If you have both consoles, you'd want the PS3 version, unless you want achievements instead of trophies ¬_¬

i can see why they gave it that for xbox with the differences betwen it and the ps3 xbox fans wont like that

I suspect will be the usual trap with Final Fantasy games. Huge expectations, enjoyable game play but ultimately slightly dissapointing and nowhere near as good as FF7.

As said in the OTHER thread, I'm playing this atm. Story is good, graphics are stunning, character development is a bit slow for the first few hours.. But a lot of the reviews have been pretty odd, as I like half the stuff they hate (e.g. the amount of times you swap chars, makes you need to actually pre-plan skills you want to learn)

People always come back to VII its as if the world hasnt played any final fantasy prior to VII.

People always come back to VII its as if the world hasnt played any final fantasy prior to VII.

Most westerners first FF was 7, thus it's the best. Nuff said really.

The dialogue is painful, and I don't like how stylised all the characters are. Well, apart from the fella with a bird in his hair. Wtf? :S The game was very, very dull for about 4 hours, now starting to open up a bit more ... but still not exactly setting my pulse a-racing.

Tura, get to the 8, then 13, then 17 hour mark. Then you're going to have several WTF moments. The game REALLY does open up loads (Also, it's a chocobo, which is more of a dodo)

Chapter 6 and 7 are the first great ones imo, 9 is awesome for finally giving you the 'full' battle system.
