I want to make a guild on hibernia/excal but I hear them slots are full.
First of all, what fucking stupid system is that? How much resources can a guild take on the server, 1 kb per guild?

I've tried 3 times with full groups and people not in guilds and failed for the last couple of days, the damn guild registrar wont take the 1 gold.

I've heard that a person must be guildless for 2 hours before he can make/join another guild, some of the people involved at all times left their guild provisory so they could help us make the full group, might that have affected anything?

Is it that or are those damn slots still closed? And is there an ETA on when they'll be back?

Thats only for PvP server.

im pretty sure each guild take more when 1kb, the server need to safe everything about the guild, what members it had, how many rps they did farm, how there emblem looks like and prolly alot more.

I suspect it's a limitation on their database design. A change would be quite a big job by mythic (afair, i'm not a DBA myself but i reguarly get sworn at by one ;-) )

One solution would be for them to remove long inactive guilds, or ones with no members who actually play any more. I know a number of the slots will be taken up with long dead guilds like my first one where the GM quit and rerolled and at the time it was impossible to give gm rights for anyone else...

I hear they are working on somthing to expand the guilds on excal, so i would way they are aware of the problem.

Its maybe in a up and coming patch who knows.

The problem isn't one of resources, it's that there's a limit to the maximum number of guilds which is hardcoded into the game. The limit is something like 3000 guilds (off the top of my head), which probably seemed like more than enough when you remember that the servers aren't supposed to hold more than 3000 players or so.

What we are doing is looking at all the servers that are at or close to their cap, listing all the inactive or empty guilds so that the tech guys can write us a patch that will delete them,

Obviously we need to be very careful with this process as there's always the chance that someone could type a number wrong and suddenly an old established and active guild gets deleted by mistake. We are therefore checking, double checking and treble checking everything before we make more space.

I can't give you an exact date when we'll be ready to run the next guild patch on Excalibur but it will be 'soon'.

I've tried 3 times with various people not knowing when the slots will be freed, getting people for 30 min only to become frustrated that it still don't work is nothing to cheer about.

Something like /guildslots would make me a whole lot happier though.

I can't give you an exact date when we'll be ready to run the next guild patch on Excalibur but it will be 'soon'.
