Aye that bit fairly well covered the Normans didn't just invade either supposedly it was given to them by the Catholic church (granted it was by an English Pope though ).

Was just wondering about before hand as I was going to make a pointless post saying how could we of split up these countries into warring factions when they didn't exist as united countries in the first place eg. Irelands Kingdoms, India Princedoms, Africas tribes and what not. Not that this excuses colonialism but I just felt like getting a cheap shot in.

I can see you are just being silly now You either want us to help or you don't? What use is sending a couple of thousand people into an area just to observe them killing each other, we have the news for that. A peace keeping force does nothing, it isn't allowed to intervene. Was it you that mentioned Kosovo earlier? That was a peace keeping force and it did nothing at all to stop the killing it was only when we went on the offensive that the region became relatively stable.

Look at Zimbabwe, the only way to fix that region would be to remove Robert Mugabe from power and the only way to do that would be by force. Are you seriously suggesting a peace keeping force will make any difference at all in Zimbabwe or the Sudan?

Ive always been a staunch supporter of the English and American. But you have to ask yourself, if we, and the americans want to act as the world police, why dont we do anything about places like Zimbabwe or Somalia?

Ireland was invaded shortly after England by the Normans and was ruled separately. Cromwell gave parts of northern Ireland to his troops after the English civil.

Yea Raven it was, and the french in north africa. Its no good telling him though, I said the same thing a few pages back and it just doesnt seem to sink in.

The most ironic thing about all of this is that he is calling you ignorant. I mean wtf.

Best to give people like this a wide berth I think, theres no way to reason at all. Its all our fault, nothing to do with anyone else, just the big bad brits and thier evil empire.

Why we dont all just commit suicide from the sheer guilt of it all I just.dont.know.
