Feckin Mouse...

i have a intelimouse explorer which basically means it glows red

i turned on my PC today and for no apparent reason it seemes like the mouse has incredible lag, its gone really slow and sluggish. its not like the speed has been dicreased its just very unresponsive and it seems to have a really slow refresh rate

any ideas please?

open up mouse properties and check your speed and sensitivity settings are ok

If you're using it on a USB port or hub, make sure no other USB device has suddenly decided to flood the USB bus with data. Also check you mobo bios settings for the USB stuff.

Have a look in ur motherboard manual and see which PCI slot shares its IRQ with USB controller.
If there is a PCI card in that slot move it to another slot, but take care not to put it in a PCI slot that shares with any other onboard controllers like a Highpoint/Promise ATA66/100 controller.

If you have a SBLive card make sure that it also is in a IRQ slot that does not share. Beware of sharing with another PCI slot also

I've got an Intellimouse explorer too...
I got the same shit from mine..for about 5 minutes...until it finally died at the grand old age of 2 months.
New replacement feels goooood...

i have an intellimouse about 6 months now and have had no
problems with it i find if the little pads pick up dirt it lags a bit so keep them clean.
