45 minutes? WTF?
The only game that took me 45 minutes was the "Kingdoms"-expansion for Medieval 2: Total War
Haven't got my hands on Fear 2 yet, but I dread to install it if it takes that long...

took almost no time at all, certainly not longer than anything else

it does however link itself into STEAM as cd key locking, etc, etc

so if u dont have steam installed to start with, or anything odd happens with it, it will spaz out while it validates itself

the actual extracting shouldnt take much more than 5 mins ?

unless you got a STARFORCE infection ofc :D

Personally felt ripped off after buying it, bought it around 6pm had it completed by 3am it must be half the size of the first FEAR.

Luckily i managed to blag a refund at Tesco.

I'd advise anyone thinking of buying to rent it or wait until the price comes down.

Yeah the dev's said it had 30% more content than the original fear, but were very evasive about just how long the game is. Crappy console port tbh.

Eh what you mean crappy console port?

The consoles had the same version as the PC but that isn't what i'm getting at.

The first FEAR is way longer than FEAR 2, i have played FEAR on the PC around 3 times it was:

1. Alot harder

2. A damn sight lot longer too.

FEAR on the 360 is exactly the same as the PC minus a few graphical candy pops, i'm just saying FEAR2 is a real let down and it's not because it came out on the consoles either it's because they have got lazy bringing out their last crummy expansions and thought they would cash in with a number 2.

I mean the PC version was shit because it was just a port of the console version. Evidence for this being the lack of anything but 16:9 mode (so you get borders on even widescreen LCD's, as they're 16:10). No extra mouse button support and a wealth of other problems that probably wouldn't have been there if they'd done some proper testing on the PC rather than X360.

Still, I'm glad they released a demo first so I could find out how naff a release it was before I wasted my money.

The shitty length of the game might not have anything to do with it being a port, but it's just another in a fairly sizeable list of game defects that should have been dealt with.

I will prolly get it when it comes down in price, it seems they have gone down the Deus Ex: Invisible War route and completly forgot about the PC crowd and catered the game for Consoles (That is what the demo feels like) The expansions were made by a diff company and monolith don't consider them Canon and never happened apparently.
