I like old metallica more but my best bands at the moment are deftones,korn,dimmu borgir,metallica,system of a down,cradle of filth,sepultra and of course rammstein

Korn is rapcore, soad is fuckknowswhatcore, rammstein is... techno-metal I guess, only heard the 'Mutter' album so I dunno how they started off.
Nu-metal is what Nickleback invented about 12 years ago before no-one liked it. Bands like, well, Nickleback, Puddle of Mudd, Papa Roach, and probably god-knows how many others I'd know about if I still had the MTV2 channel.
On the other hand nu-metal IS damn catchy in a lot of cases and not all the songs *have* to be able how miserable they are with their lives/family/dog/friends/etc. Really, if you listen to death, gloom, doom and disastercore (k, I made that one up, sue me) and then claim to hate nu-metal, either you hate it because of the musical style (ok, fair enough) or because a bunch of 13 year old kiddies in korn hoodies like it. If it's the second reason, grow up - you don't have to hate it just because it's semi-cool

This week I am mostly enjoying the new One Minute Silence and Massive Attack albums, and also the wedding/funeral from Prokofiev's Lieutenant Kije suite. Hardcore cello ownage!1!¬

hate black metal though,only group i really like was children of bodom but they aint real black metal anyway.
allways hated the whole black metal scene because of their "ewul" image.
and most of those bands have an asshole attitude irl too(been on loads of gigs and festivals backstage when i was younger)
but then again groups like deicide and morbid angel have a terrible attitude too irl

I listen to mostly rock, bands like Cure, Joy Division, Smiths, Sonic Youth, Blur, Interpol, Pink Floyd are my favouries but I like some folky stuff like Nick Drake, Martin Carthy and Dubliners and Massive Attack are trés leet.
