On Sunday I did a 100-mile bike ride, partly in aid of Christies (the cancer place), and partly because it's a personal milestone I wanted to pass. With work and wotnot I didn't have time to beg people for sponsorship money, and I've always felt uncomfortable with the notion of stuffing a form under someone's nose and asking for money. So, instead, I'm simply asking people to donate on their website. A couple of quid, a fiver, whatever. It all helps. Nobody has to if they don't want to.

This was the ride (its disappeared now from the official website):

Here's proof I did it (just over 7 hours, including 3-4 breaks):

Here's the website to donate:

They looked after my dad during his last few months.

Well done Tom, I've put a bit in.

Quite a coincidence actually as I did a 100 miler of my own on Saturday, I took rather longer, 7hrs 16min of cycling time, but with almost 2 hours of breaks, but then my course was hilly rather than flat :p (5818 feet of climbing against 3058). I did it to fund myself to go on a charitable project to Kenya in October. I'm going to be the radiographer in an orthopaedic surgical team in Nanyuki. I managed to raise about £600, I hope you do really well too!

I will donate but I'd like to know when you are planning to do the last 0.71 miles?

I got to the finish line and noticed that, but I really couldn't be arsed doing another mile just to get past 100 :) I got in my car and fucked off home!

I ate almost 5,000 calories that day :)
