I lvoe rhubarb but I guess it will have to be Apple since it would be second fav out of handiness to eat etc... Don't need to worry about it getting squished in my bag on the way to work and I don't need to keep it chilled or anything...

Strawberries and cream with extra sugar. Win, extra win, the fruit of champions, and the poor bastards that watch wanna-be champs like Henman. :(

I guess they're not getting good strawbs then. I totally agree with you.

Just gimme a large, juicy, ripe, sweet fresh strawberry. Why on earth would you wanna cover it with sugar ? Beats me. Kinda takes away the point of eating it imo

Heh. I did that as a kid with my mom and dad. There was this "Pick Your Own" strawberry field about 30 mins drive from our house. They also did gooseberries, blackcurrents, raspberries, and blackberries. There was straw on the ground. We had to wear old clothing cos of all the strawb stains LOL. Great fun. Hot, backbreaking, knee-ache. I definitely remember eating more than I picked !

One of those near us as well, was great fun! They did loads of different fruit and some veg as well (runner beans and that sort of thing)

Keep meaning to go back again to see if it is as much fun now as I always remember.... MMmmm Pick loads of strawberries then go home and get out the extra thick cream to dip them in..../drool...

Funny. We'd just spent the last hour stuffing ourselves stupid with strawbs. Then feeling sick on the way home. And the first thing we all did when we got home was eat more bloody strawberries ! LOLS

We picked so many, my mom made like 20 jars of jam, and there was still like 2 massive pannets of the things left over ! We ended up going over to our next door neighbours, giving a load to them, then drinking wine AND EATING MORE STRAWBERRIES !

The freshly picked ones definitely taste so much better than anything you get in Tescos or wherever. Can't beat getting the fruit straight out the ground / off the tree.:)

Plus the fact that alot of the time the ones you get in supermarkets etc are grown abroad as it is usually off season when u take the notion to buy them.. Spanish strwbs just don't taste the same as the ones down the road :)

(personally I always think they taste watery and not sweet at all)

On the otherhand, watermelon - which I absolutely adore - always tastes better abroad - prob cos thats where they grow so therefore fresher. Also we go on holiday generally in the summer which is when watermelon's are most ripe.

mmmmmm...watermelon...../drool

Don't really like any melons although I'll admit I always drool when watching someone else eat it!

Summer fruit of choice is usually strawbs, grapes or raisins/sultanas.. Pretty much anything I can pick on while doing other things :)
