Fast vs Slow weapons..interesting read

Had a look at this, interesting stuff, always wondered about when and where fast or slow is worthwhile.

Quick summary:
2handed weapons are ALOT better than one handed weapons(assuming we are talking s/s here and not dual weilding). About 40% better even.

BUT, if your opponent has bladeturn, or you miss/opponent parries first attack, then slower weapons suddenly become very useless

2-H is better, unless you find yourself in an extended fight, if you read it all the way thru (I was tired and wanted to stop I can tell you <yawns>) the more hps your opponent has fast weapons actually catch up and in the end do more dmg, although it would have to be a loooong fight indeed.
I'm still for fast weapons, think they all have a role in RvR, interrupting casters and not feeling like a lemon for 5 secs if you happen to miss
I love my luri champ, hit for loads (not as much as taller more muscular types sure but I seem to parry/evade a lot too) and it's good fun. Still, I run out of end in about 4-5 moves without DD or debuffs and it can suck.
Basically in zergs 2-H owns, in 1v1 fights there is a good chance a faster weapon would work out better, although since champs can debuff attack speed it's less of an issue.

Just curious how others feel about the weapons they use and why

Alb/Hib 2-h "bonus" is 40%. For mids it's 15%. Lotsa whining can be read at VNBoards times

Not true Belth, old warrior and armsman TLs collaborated on some tests and proved that it's identical. Alb 2handed/polearm STYLES are better than mid hammer/axe styles in terms of damage bonus, but the initial bonus for using a 2hander is the same.

Yep, unstyled bonus is same, but styled is less for mids. Hence the whining. It's less because mids don't need to spec 2 lines, but there's the inconsistency - neither do hibs.

Fast weapons interrupting casters is a myth, slow weapons are better - you get 5-6 secs of interrupt per swing with a big 2 hander, you get a mere 2-3 with a one-hander.

But you're pretty much guaranteed to miss every swing with a 2-hander against hibbies...

Yes, but you hit within 2-3 secs, that's the point. Never been hit by a spell when attacking a caster unless it was an instant or quickcast.
