Farscape was shit, good riddance. Babylon 5 ran for just the right amount of time, it finished on a high and never went horrificly bad (ala X Files).

The thing that ruined it for me was that the station felt like a TV set and had no atmosphere. Everything looked like it was made from bottle tops and fairy lights. I mean the nerve center of the station was the same size as my living room

The first couple of seasons were ropey, but that's mainly due to their limited budget at the time.

As seasons went on they got more money, from S3 onwards it picked up in quality (both in story and budget regards).

Season 3 was probably my favourite, closely followed by S4. S5 was a bit poo though, but that's because the story got finished off in S4, and JMS (the creator of the series) had to pad out for a 5th season.
